Who are we looking for?
A highly motivated and driven self-starting Strategic Sourcing Analyst who can work well in a team-oriented atmosphere. The ideal candidate should have the understanding of what needs to be done in order to support the execution of spend and supply analysis, strategy development, execution of RFP/RFQ activities, supplier evaluation and selection, negotiation of terms and conditions, and new product introduction activities. They should also have strong computer and technology skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite and SAP and be able to travel up to 70% of the time to vendor/production locations. The shift hours are typically 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, other days/times as needed.

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst will continually explore sourcing/re-sourcing opportunities arising from process and product improvements, new technology, alternative materials and suppliers, enhancements in supply chain activities, cost reduction programs, and other opportunities that may present a competitive advantage with the goal of attaining the optimal balance of quality, service, availability, and value.

SUMMARY:

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst will play a key role in the company's Supply Chain Operations by supporting execution of key strategic sourcing initiatives. The Strategic Sourcing Analyst will be responsible for supporting the execution of spend and supply analysis, strategy development, execution of RFP/RFQ activities, Supplier Evaluation and Selection, Negotiation of terms and conditions, and new product introduction activities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Lead negotiations in collaboration with the assigned Buyers for existing and new Supplier Agreements, Contract Negotiations, Inventory Agreements, Price Negotiations, Cost Savings, lead time reductions, non-disclosure agreements to ensure the company is supported by best-in-class suppliers delivering on time, to specification, at the lowest total cost.

* Lead the RFP/RFQ process and coordinate communication between Suppliers and internal team members.

* Monitors the actual versus agreed to cost savings, inflation, and lead times.

* Collaborates with the Supply Chain Manager and Buyers to execute the supplier performance scorecard process.

* Assist in preparing all necessary reports to support negotiations and visits to Suppliers.

* Leads all activities related with New Supplier visits from preparing all necessary information and follow-up on actions agreed from meetings.

* Actively pursue continuous improvement with current and potential suppliers.

* Continually explore Sourcing/Re-sourcing opportunities arising from process and product improvements, new technology, alternative materials and suppliers, enhancements in supply chain activities, cost reduction programs, and other opportunities that may present a competitive advantage.

* Serve as a commodity specialist by tracking market trends and economic conditions affecting the company's Supply Base and developing sourcing strategies that minimize risk to the overall supply chain.

* Conduct on-site review of supplier facilities and product/process capability and capacity to assess current and potential supplier qualifications.

* Serves as a back-up for Buyers as needed.

* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing professional publications.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

* Ability to think big without overlooking minute details.

* Proven ability to develop strong business relationships with key suppliers and experience in developing and executing long term agreements.

* Must possess skills to do research, analysis, and understand procurement processes and workflows in order to make recommendations to meet business needs.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational and project management skills, written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, memos, etc. Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.

* Computer literate and proficient using Microsoft software suite, data entry, and data management. Knowledge of SAP software is critical.

* Work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks accurately, effectively, and efficiently.

* Ability to respond consistently with a high degree of initiative to resolve issues or complex problems that may arise.

* A courteous and professional demeanor.

* Superior negotiation skills including the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management both internally and externally, including cross functional teams.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.S.) and/or previous Supply Chain Experience

* Minimum 5 Years of Supply Chain Experience, with 2-4 years of experience in Sourcing or Supplier Development


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

* This position is in an office environment where the noise level is moderate.

* Some travel to between Plants and to visit Suppliers is expected.
