Job Description

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for a Senior Finance Manager to support our government customer located in San Diego, CA.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist government personnel with tracking monthly budgeting/accounting spreadsheets and report findings to the government.
  • Assist with the review of budget estimates/adjustments for completeness, accuracy and conformance with procedures, regulatiopn and goverment directed program changes.
  • Provide technical assistance with research/protocol related data and reports such as costs, fiscal allocation, and preparation of project budget reports.
  • Assist with recording the status and location of all documents and maintaining the integrity and security of all documents in the appropriate database.
  • Provide financial inputs into the drafting of institutional agreements including but not limited to memorandums of understanding/agreement (MOU/MOA), Cooperative Research & Development Agreements (CRADAs), and data sharing agreements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Equivalent.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 + years of work experience in financial planning, accounting and/or business operations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of or previous experience working with Government spending/budgets.
  • Knowledge of or previous experience working with Government grants/contracts.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a Tier 3 background check.
