Job Summary:

The Supervisor of Mail Services plans activities and provides front-line supervision of Evanston Mail Center staff. Provides training, establishes contacts, develops, and evaluates procedures, maintains postage accounts, and creates and develops reports.

Specific Responsibilities:

* Plans, schedules, and coordinates assignments for Mail Center Staff. Determines priorities and adjusts schedules as needed.

* Supervises the work activities of 8 staff members. Assigns tasks and provides instruction and oversight. Schedules and plan employee vacation time.

* Establishes goals, objectives, and evaluates employee's performance to ensure established compliances and goals are being met.

* Provides training for staff which includes new employee training and orientation. Identify staff needs, establishes operational procedures, and revise and update procedures as needed.

* Establish and maintain a communication network with faculty and staff to assist with projects, provide the best service, and to resolve problems.

* Organize and submit monthly chargebacks reports for various postage accounts. Monitor postage reserve account to maintain a sufficient postage balance and submit a check request to have the postage balance replenished when needed.

* Manage all shipping and receiving software - FedEx, UPS, Pitney Bowes Business Manager, and the Send Suite Online tracking.

* Updates monthly productivity information.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* 3-5 years supervisory experience.

Minimum Competencies:

* Ability to successfully interact with staff, colleagues, suppliers, and vendors.

* Good supervisory and people skills.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Excellent decision-making skills.

* Good computer skills including Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Some college helpful.

* Prior experience supervising mail services for a large, multi-location organization or comparable distribution center.

Preferred Competencies:

* Understanding of mail service and logistics operations.

* Quick thinker and learner.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $26.27-$35.05 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
