Opening for Jan and Marcia Achenbach Professor

The Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University invite applications for the newly established Jan and Marcia Achenbach Professorship (at the tenured full professor level).

Candidates are expected to build a world-class research program, and to demonstrate a commitment to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the McCormick School of Engineering. Northwestern University encourages cross-departmental collaborations and offers flexible faculty appointments through joint and courtesy appointments.

Outstanding applicants whose research interests are in the broad area of mechanics, and who will strengthen the strategic priorities of the two departments as well as the interdisciplinary graduate program in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (TAM) will be considered.
