Job Description

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. In this role, you will work on the Connected Products team and will support new development activities for the AeroSync Mission and AeroSync Max family of products. You will be an individual contributor and mentor less experienced electrical design engineers. You will join the Integrated Product Team (IPT) as part of new product development activities. As part of the IPT, you will be responsible for taking a design from concept to development and into production. This position may also be assigned to support new business pursuits and technology refreshes of current products.

This hybrid on-site position is based out of our Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Connected Products.

How You Will Do It:

  • Work with cross-functional development teams to take products through requirements definition, architecture development, detailed design, hardware and software integration, requirements verification, and product qualification.
  • Analyze analog, digital, and power circuit designs, including microprocessors/controllers, DSP's, FPGA's, sensor interfaces, linear and switching power supplies.
  • Develop and test prototypes to address areas of high technical risk.
  • Communicate directly with our customer's technical leads and subject matter experts to agree upon solutions to technical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced engineers.
  • Lead electrical engineering design reviews and actively address technical risks in the product design.
  • Assure design compliance with applicable EMI/EMC and environmental standards.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for issues discovered during product verification and qualification testing, customer integration, and product field failures.
  • Support robustness, HALT, and other stress testing methodologies.
  • Work directly with purchasing, manufacturing, and suppliers through new product introduction and product launch.
  • Support project planning activities, including project resourcing, budget estimation, and schedule development.

What We Look For:


Required

  • You must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five years of experience in electrical design or related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in the development of electronics, including schematic design, circuit simulation, signal integrity analysis, and EMI/EMC compliance.

Desired

  • Master of Science degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in electrical design or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in the development of electronics, including schematic design, circuit simulation, signal integrity analysis, and EMI/EMC compliance.
  • Strong understanding of power supply design and power management architectures, or embedded processor implementation, or cellular, Wi-Fi, and RF technologies.
  • Experience in a safety-critical industry.
  • Experience with DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704 requirements.
  • Familiarity with avionics standards, including ARINC and RTCA.
