The Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for the ongoing development, administration, and operation of the designated day-to-day functions of the trade compliance operations. Will support a variety of trade compliance programs and initiatives within the import and export arena.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with compliance programs such as internal audits, Customs broker audits, quarterly business reviews; Assist in the proper maintenance of trade compliance data in databases (SAP, Thomson Reuters, etc)
  • Perform reviews of import and export transactions to ensure compliance with import and export regulations.
  • Assist with development and preparation of trade metrics and KPIs including data collection
  • Manage multiple projects as assigned for a variety of trade compliance initiatives, including, but not limited to: trade compliance software implementations, Corporate Governance of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders, Free Trade Agreements, Embargoes and Sanctions, Denied Party Screening, etc
  • Corporate management of Free Trade Agreement participation and Country of Origin determinations.
  • Assist with implementing, updating, maintaining, and monitoring trade compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Develop/maintain process work instructions and SOPs, process flows, and workflow products (automated forms) for import and export requirements;
  • Interface with freight forwarder, customs brokers, shipping and receiving locations, to resolve or answer problems concerning import or export shipments;

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience;
  • 2 years' experience in trade analytical role within International Business/Trade, Supply Chain, Customs Brokerage


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Import/export certifications;
  • Import and Export operation knowledge


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to identify and resolve high complexity process/system problems using financial, analytical, and/or statistical models;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Good financial, analytical and negotiation skills;
  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work with a minimal amount of supervision;
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills in both verbal and written format;
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and other business applications.


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel to WI Generac facilities.

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based remote is $57,000 - $85,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans; life, long-term disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accrued paid time off, paid Holidays and 401(k) retirement benefits.
