Kids and families are at the heart of everything we do at Children's. The strong partnership between the clinical teams, research teams, hospital administration and our engagement and philanthropy work can lead to powerful expressions of gratitude from grateful families, volunteers and the community that help advance the system's quality care and innovation. The System Liaison and Family Giving Officer will partner with appropriate Foundation staff and other system colleagues to respond to grateful family referrals, help articulate system funding priorities, collaborate with the principal gift program on gift requests and stewardship/accountability and drive on fund utilization to maximize philanthropic impact. Responsible for collaborating with Foundation operations, research, development team on ensuring grateful family referrals are assigned to gift officer portfolios and referring clinical teammates are updated on family engagement. Works closely with leader to manage day-to-day liaison operations and growth of family giving to Children's mission.


Minimum Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree

Experience

  • Eight years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, patient relations/care or related customer service or sales experience. Fundraising in healthcare arena is preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision.
  • Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with volunteers, staff, donors, prospects and the general public and to represent the hospital to external organizations in a professional manner.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to synthesize complex issues into easily understood concepts.
  • Organizational savvy, able to maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process and people-related organizational dynamics.
  • Skills and abilities to make new contacts and to develop and nurture support/commitment for the hospital and system from individuals, organizations and businesses.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding donor and patient family information, along with Foundation files.
  • Demonstrates strong situational adaptability.
