Position Description:
Community Research Assistant

Primary Functions

Collect data at community or school sites under guidance of supervisor and study team. Examples include:

  • Collect air quality data outdoors
  • Collect physical activity and/or survey data from children
  • Collect observational data during school recess

Communicate effectively with school or agency personnel (e.g. teachers, principals, staff) to schedule data collection visits
Download and save data as appropriate
Assist with coordination of basic study activities as required
Accurately enter research data into specified programs or databases.
Distribute recruitment materials
Obtain permission, consent, and/or assent forms from research participants
Duration of employment: Temporary: Starting Mid March, Ending Mid June.

  • Number of hours: Flexible, between 6-30 hours per week
  • Shifts available
    • 7:00am - 3pm M-F
    • 8:00-10:00 am M-F
    • 11:00am-1:00pmM-F
    • 2pm-4pm M-F

Preferred Experience:

  • Working in a school or with children
  • Working with people of various backgrounds

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using a tablet/mobile app
  • Data Entry
  • Spanish speaking
