Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Project Engineer - Control Systems to our team. 

Position Summary
This position will be responsible for the design, analysis, and maintenance of control systems for new and existing products. The position will also be responsible for the management of engineering projects related to new control systems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer engineering with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in embedded control system development, preferably in the vehicle/vessel power train industry Skilled in project management

Computer Skills:
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite Skilled in Microsoft Project Skilled in the use of electronics design software (e.g. Altium Designer) Proficient in the use of editors, compilers, and simulation software (e.g. LabView®, Matlab®) Proficient in the use of revision control software Proficient in the use of PLM, SmarTeam preferred

Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal relationship skills and listening skills that allow being able to work with people in all levels of the organization and external customers
Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely Ability to guide and train other departmental personnel as required

Technical Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of embedded systems and of standard software languages including Embedded C and VB.NET Knowledge of programming embedded software applications based on specifications Ability to analyze and specify control systems with respect to system configuration, software logic, and electronic hardware design

Work Environment:
Position is located in Racine, Wisconsin and travel required for customer and Twin Disc entity visits both domestically and abroad

Specialized Knowledge: Ability to coordinate the design and development of new products with different departments and subsidiaries of the company Highly skilled in software and hardware debugging and troubleshooting Knowledgeable in the application of environmental standards, EMI standards, standard practices in circuit design, layout, and manufacture

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.  Manage control system projects through all development phases, per TDI standards, from System Requirements Analysis to System Integration & Testing, and finally to release to production.
2. Assist in leading the Product Development Team, from various disciplines within the organization, to a timely completion of the engineering project maintaining product features that comply with the product specification while achieving project and product costs.
3. Maintain TDI Standards for control system development.
4. Design new electronic control hardware, including schematic review, circuit board review, and various design calculations.
5. Ensure the coordination of hardware and software development.
6. Write control system documentation (e.g. hardware & software design specifications, hardware and software test plans).
7. Participate in maintaining the revision control system.
8. Evaluate hardware and software deviation requests and recommend changes for product improvement.
9. Track issues related to product development and address them as needed.
10. Work with R&D and production to develop control software to aid in the testing of TDI products.
11. Keep abreast of the latest industry trends related to control and software development as they may apply to TDI products.
12. Oversee the drafting of new products and product modifications.
13. Write BOM’s (Bills of Materials) for new and modified products.
14. Perform root cause analysis of product issues.
15. Introduce new technologies to the testing and application of TDI products.
16. Supervise 0 employees.

Other Job Functions
