Our care community, The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine, is in search of an Evening Shift Nurse Supervisor for our 75 bed skilled nursing facility. We are looking for a compassionate, experienced professional who will monitor nursing care activities for the facility on the evening shift under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
The Nurse Supervisor has the responsibility to perform administrative and supervisory duties for the facility with a focus of supporting our direct care team. Creating and maintaining a positive culture is of utmost importance. This position also has an active role in the direct care of our residents and ensuring quality care. We're looking for an individual who truly cares about making our community the best home possible for our residents.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:(include, but not limited to)
- Receives information daily on residents
- Assures residents receive prescribed medications, diets and treatments
- Assures residents are comfortable, clean and well groomed
- Assures incident reports are complete, investigated, and reported to regulatory authorities as needed
- Assists with admissions as needed
- Oversight of direct care team (RNs, LPNs, TMAs & CNAs)
- Complete Performance Evaluations on an annual basis for assigned team members
- On-call requirement
Qualifications and skills:
- Possess a current, unencumbered Minnesota RN. (RN preferred, but will consider LPN)
- Preferred 2 years of experience in Long Term Care
- Preferred, but not required, two years of nursing management experience
- Ability to interact with a variety of people and promote a team philosophy
- Demonstrate leadership abilities to develop and motivate people
- Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
