Job Description

As a Sales - Truck Specification Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the sales process, serving as a technical expert of Class 6 - 8 chassis designs to support customers and the sales team. Your responsibilities will include understanding customer needs, providing technical guidance, and promoting the features and benefits of our truck chassis solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and the sales team, providing expert advice on Class 6 - 8 chassis specifications, capabilities, and customization options. Competent understanding of:

    • Competitive brands & designs

    • Vehicle dynamics, suspension and steering systems, aerodynamics and tire modeling

    • Review truck frame layouts for accuracy and coordinate required changes.

  • Engage with customers to understand their specific requirements, usage scenarios, and challenges related to truck chassis applications.

  • Conduct product presentations and demonstrations, highlighting the technical features and advantages of the truck chassis solutions.

  • Collaborate with customers to identify opportunities for chassis customization to meet their unique business needs.

  • Demonstrate a commanding knowledge of chassis specifications to match the customers need by product segment including On highway, construction/refuse, city streets, logging roads, etc.

    • Determine relevance and potential value of new technologies to support customer ESG objectives

  • Provide training sessions for sales personnel to enhance their understanding of chassis technology, enabling them to effectively communicate technical details to customers.

  • Assist in the development of technical proposals, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and technical feasibility.

  • Work closely with internal teams to communicate customer feedback, technical requirements, and collaborate on custom solutions.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies related to truck chassis to provide insights for product development and sales strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Prior experience in a technical sales or customer support role within the automotive or trucking industry.

  • Strong technical understanding of truck chassis systems and components.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build strong relationships and understand customer needs.

  • Basic understanding of sales processes and the ability to contribute to sales strategies.

  • Ability to adapt to changing customer requirements and market dynamics.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales teams, engineers, and other stakeholders.
