Work Schedule:

60% FTE, 24 hours per week, day/night shift with weekend and holiday rotation. You will work at University Hospital located in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:

  • Join a team of REMARKABLE nurses that use compassion and teamwork to care for critically ill adult patients.
  • Work in a fast-paced ICU providing care to critically ill surgical, medical, and trauma patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Be part of an academic medical center and be involved in cutting edge, evidence-based therapies and research studies to improve patient outcomes.
  • Become an expert in using advanced life support therapies including ECMO and continuous dialysis to care for patients.
  • Be part of a team that serves as emergency responders throughout the hospital.

Care teams in the Trauma and Life Support ICU were recently presented with the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Gold Level Beacon Award-the highest honor a critical care unit can achieve. Education:
Preferred - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Work Experience:
Minimum - Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.

Preferred - Relevant RN experience

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum - Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact. Current CPR/BLS Certification. ACLS obtained within six (6) months of hire.
