Job Summary:

Responsible for all essential functions of a Medical Assistant with emphasis on phlebotomy, injections, vital signs, TB skin testing and screening, data collection, compliance trending, customer service. This position will assist the Workforce Health Department with the delivery of the Employer Health Appraisal Process, Wellness Programs, annual flu campaigns and assisting in the Workplace Clinics with patient care. Some clerical, medical office, scheduling and telephone work is required. Travel is required. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

One to two years of clinical experience is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High school diploma or equivalent required. In addition, individuals must meet one (1) of the following combinations of education and experience:

A.) A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate).

B.) A graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, diploma, or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training. In addition to education, one (1) year of formal on the job Medical Assistant experience preferred.

C.) Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of the following credentials: a.) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) b.) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) c.) Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE).

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification through the AAMA and/or an equal certification board or certification is preferred.
