This is a seasonal position (June 2, 2024-August 2, 2024) with opportunities for extended employment.

The Maintenance Assistant is to maintain the property and buildings of Army Lake Camp in a manner that will provide a safe and attractive environment for staff and campers to enjoy.

About the role:

  • Cutting and weed whipping of all finished grounds during the spring, summer, and fall
  • Snow removal in the winter of all drives and walk; salt as needed.
  • Leaf removal in fall.
  • Removal of weeds from baseball diamonds, volleyball courts, shrub and flower beds.
  • Picking up any debris on a daily basis.
  • Maintain and clean all grounds equipment and completing associated logs.
  • Empty trash cans on grounds on a weekly or as needed basis.
  • Assist with facility and property maintenance as needed and assigned by Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist in the facilitation of Army Lake Camp grounds maintenance.
  • Assist in providing a clean and sanitary environment for campers, visitors, and staff to work and live in.
  • Maintain all maintenance equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience and training in related fields in the maintenance of buildings and grounds including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance
  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and demonstrates proven ability.
  • Knowledge of equipment suppliers and pertinent to routine camp maintenance.
  • Strong organizational skills in order to maintain accurate records and inventories.
  • The ability to communicate and develop working relationships with other staff members and business associates.
  • Possess supervisory experience and skills supporting teamwork.
  • Current, or have ability to obtain, American Rd Cross CPR and FA. (Army Lake Camp offers ARC CPR and FA certifications at camp)
  • Must be able to lift and carry 80 pounds
