Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program Manager will provide organizing, planning, tracking and execution support for all CSR initiatives across Ventura Foods. Corporate Social Responsibility Manager will be responsible for providing a wide variety of administrative, customer service, and subject matter functions that help organize and drive forward Ventura Foods' CSR program goals, objectives and initiatives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Communications and Project Management:

  • Manage, implement, and coordinate the company's CSR program. Identify gaps in existing programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Work cross functionally across all departments in and functions within the organization to gather sustainability data or other information with a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Assist in the scheduling and management of customer requested environmental audits and social assessments, as well as following up after evaluations have been completed.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers as directed by supervisor or other function leaders.
  • Work with CSR consultant to help track, measure, and analyze corporate social responsibility efforts to ensure delivery of internal goals and objectives.
  • Organize internal documents and assist CSR consultant with annual CSR report development.

Reporting and Monitoring:

  • Continuously keep abreast of ESG reporting standards and develop a system to report sustainability efforts based on the sustainability strategy recommendations internally.
  • Manage CSR information systems (e.g., Sedex, Ecovadis) to keep them up to date, create reports and collate data from multiple sources as needed.
  • Develop and implement process to handle daily business and customer CSR inquiries, including customer survey requests, efficiently and on-time.

Program Governance:

  • Provide sustainability leads and senior leadership with regular updates and progress reports on sustainability communications initiatives.
  • Provide CSR guidance, council and training to sales leaders and employees
  • Ensure all relevant CSR policies and guidance documents are organized and regularly updated.
  • Track and stay up to date with CSR-related trends/research and regulatory issues and provide best practice guidance to help modify strategies.
  • Develop and manage the sustainability communications budget and resources.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree, with 5+ years' experience in communications with a focus on social responsibility and sustainability programs within a global or domestic supply chain.
  • Must have broad corporate or headquarter project management cross functional experience.
  • Ability to travel <5%.
  • Project management qualification preferred.
  • PMP highly desirable.
  • Master's or MBA focused in strategic communication or sustainability preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability.
  • Knowledge of GRI, SASB, SBTi and other third-party CSR reporting frameworks and initiatives preferred.
  • Knowledge of or experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of sustainability issues and trends, with a proven ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and compelling manner
  • Knowledge of or experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow up.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conceive, develop, and execute on clear, well organized, and professional deliverables.
  • Strong planning, project management and coordination skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Capacity to manage priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with others.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams required.

  • Salary Base Range of $91,300 - $117,000 for Employees Located in California*
  • Annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions)

*The "base salary range" provided above is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The range provided is for California-based employees as Ventura Foods is required by California State Law to post pay rates. Ventura Foods reserves the right to pay outside of the given range based on a variety of factors including but not limited to: candidate skills and experience, complexity of the job, budgetary factors, and location/geography. Ventura Foods conducts regular reviews of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
