Position Summary
Set up, operate, and tend molds to create elements for a wide variety of shoes. Coordinate with other departments to ensure machines work properly and accurate run of molds. Keep track of daily output requirements.
Responsibilities
- Repair and wax molds for surface imperfections.
- Move and position mold sections using lift tables.
- Brush wax onto mold sections to facilitate removal of elements from molds.
- Lift upper mold sections from lower sections and remove elements.
- Visually inspect elements to ensure quality.
- Hang elements on appropriate racks for baking process.
- Distribute elements to appropriate bins in saw department.
- Accurately cast molds.
- Monitor temperature of molds.
- Monitor pressure gauges of casting machines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skill Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of continuous molding experience.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read precision measuring instruments and learn computer spreadsheets.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules and issue computer generated reports.
- Must be detail oriented and possess good communication skills as well as time management skills.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
