Location: US:WI:MENOMONEE FALLS at our FROEDTERT MEN FALLS HOSPITAL facility.

Shift: Shift 1

40 hours per weekly pay period. Flexible on weekly schedule. Current schedule: four 10-hour shifts Tuesday thru Friday with 1 hour each day as admin time to equal 90% patient care, 10% admin time.

Job Summary:
Serves in role of Nurse Practitioner (NP) consultant, educator, researcher and manager of the day-to-day operations of the outpatient Wound Care Program. The NP is an advanced practice nurse and is subject to the rules and regulations of the State. The NP has prescriptive authority per the State of Wisconsin and performs the functions of examining, assessing, planning and implementing the health care of patients in collaboration and under the general supervision of licensed physicians. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience is required. (Some previous experience in wound care of patients is also required.) Three to five years of wound care experience is preferred. Previous leadership experience is preferred.

Nurse practitioner with valid Wound and Ostomy certification required. This position is for direct patient care for the wound and ostomy patient population in a hospital outpatient department setting. Position includes variable scheduled/sporadic inpatient time for PSI-03 validations or IP wound care needs communicated by the IP WOCN's. Position is for FMFH but may also include the potential need for FWBH outpatient care center APNP coverage. Opportunity for Enterprise committee's related to specialty.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Master's degree from an accredited Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Program is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients and families, providing caring and understanding, as well as work effectively with MD's RN's, and other hospital disciplines. Ability to view patient need within the context of the entire individual as well as keep an eye on detail in performing professional nursing care for patients and families involved in a life-altering situation.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Current State of Wisconsin License as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire. Medicaid and Medicare (PECOS) enrollment is required within 3 months of hire.
