What we need:
Brady Corporation is seeking a Lead Chemist who will be a highly influential and visible member of the Materials R&D department with responsibility for providing hands-on research expertise and leadership to develop new products through commercial launch, and support existing products. Technical areas of focus will be in pressure sensitive adhesives, durable inks and coatings, print receptive coatings, sensing labels, anti-counterfeit products, and other associated technologies.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and supervise research projects that deliver business results
  • Work within multiple cross functional teams to enable new product development project success
  • Execute various project activities through a defined Stage Gate process
  • Explore new technologies in material design or process for future application to Brady operations and/or target markets
  • Design & execute experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance attributes of these technologies
  • Develop an understanding of process capability, design selection criteria, and/or structure-property relationships for developed products
  • Actively research & identify relevant intellectual property and patentable inventions
  • Maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum relevant industrial product or process development experience: BS/MS +8, PhD +3
  • Experience using design of experiments and statistical analysis
  • Established track record of successful product or process development through the application of DFSS tools
  • Authorized to work in the United States
