Warehouse Shop Specialist


Job Summary

Our Waukesha client is seeking a dedicated Warehouse and Shop Maintenance Specialist to run, organize, and keep everything maintained and afloat for our Technicians. This company employs a team of HVAC Installers, HVAC Service Techs, Plumbers, and Electricians. All of that takes A LOT of parts and equipment - for them to deliver to their end customers as well as the tools and materials to do their jobs to manufacture and deliver service to the customers as well! Parts are coming in and parts are going out all day every day! And in order to be most efficient at their jobs, we need a strong and dedicated Shop Specialist to attend to department needs and errands of the shop / warehouse for Seider. In addition, has responsibility for keeping the warehouse and outside grounds clean and in orderly condition.
This position will work closely with the Warehouse Inventory Specialist in tracking the coming and going of all parts and inventory. This position has the potential to grow into more of a Shop Manager role in time, as learn more, prove abilities, and can take things to a new level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Job Duties
  • Shipping and Receiving responsibilities – be available to assist with all deliveries, loading and unloading product, properly process and store or get to intended party.
  • Stage the jobs being performed for the next day, to get ready all parts and materials that Technicians will need to load on vehicles for their jobs in the field.
  • Use Forklift as needed for any shipping/receiving/staging/etc.. tasks.
  • Organize warehouse bays and shop areas for cleanliness, efficiency and order, and adherence to safety guidelines and state or federal regulations.
  • Assist with monitoring, tracking and removal of all Scrap materials and product.
  • Assist with tracking and keeping up Inventory – as assigned by Inventory Manager.
  • Run parts, equipment and miscellaneous item to Technicians in the field as called for.
  • As trained or qualified, may perform preventative maintenance or repairs on warehouse equipment and tools.
  • Perform any errands requested by management.
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours.
  • Trim shrubbery; maintain weeds and clear debris from grounds.
  • Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
  • Cleaning and maintaining storage areas.
  • Moving waste from docks to the dumping area.
  • Clean shop restroom.
Education and Qualifications
  • Ideally – will possess a high school diploma/GED.
  • Relative work experience highly desired. Prefer several years working in similar shop/warehouse positions in some capacity. General work experience of minimally 1 year required. Open to talking with very experienced individuals as well.
  • Knowledge about the operations of work of a HVAC organization highly desirable, but not required.
  • Driver’s license and relatively clean driving background required.
  • Ability, comfort and willingness to be trained on Forklift Driving required. If have prior experience with forklifts, a plus!
Skills/Qualifications
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematics knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Physical fitness to easily carry heavy weights
  • Capable of working with the warehouse tools and equipment
  • Carry out basic maintenance work on the forklifts, trucks and other machinery
  • Time organizational skills
  • Ability to carry out instructions correctly with least supervision
  • Following the standard procedures of operations
  • Ensuring that all safety guidelines are adhered to
Physical Requirements
  • Must regularly stand, kneel, stoop, reach on a regular basis.
  • Must regularly move up to 60-80 pounds using appropriate assists. Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work in high, precarious places up to elevations of 50 feet
Working Environment
  • May be exposed to work near moving mechanical equipment
  • May be exposed to wet, hot, or humid conditions
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • May be exposed to high noise environments
  • May be exposed to extremely dusty environments
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
