Description
The EMS Liaison serves as liaison between the hospital, EMS workers and the providers of emergency services. The EMS liaison assist the base station coordinator in ensuring staff is ready to respond quickly and efficiently to emergency needs,and builds stronger relationships and communication with outside agencies such as local police and fire departments.
Networking and building effective relationship with all EMS units under the facility direction.Monitoring and reporting EMS volumesScheduling education for all EMS units identified through needs assessment and from quality data.Collects data for base station coordinator to complete regular run reviews with all EMS units.Provides clerical support to base station coordinator to ensure EMS protocols reflect the current standards of care and evidence based EMS practice.Interface with local, state and federal agencies as it relates to Emergency Management.Schedules initial and ongoing training in emergency management for all staff.Maintenance of Emergency Management supplies, including keeping an adequate inventory and ensuring all supplies are in working order.Assists base station coordinator in the scheduling of drills internally and externally to maintain competency for all staff and meeting regulatory requirements.Assists base station coordinator in the application for and use of local, state and federal funding to provide equipment and training for the facility.

Qualifications
Minimum EducationX High school diploma or equivalent x Preferred(GED or equivalent accepted)
X Two years of college PreferredGraduate from a program in discipline.
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:X BLS - Basic Life Support-American Heart Association REQUIRED
Required Licenses[Arizona, United States] Emergency Medical Technician - Basic
Multi State/Compact Licensure accepted.
