Employee oriented company is looking to hire an Assembly Tech to be responsible for assembling sub-components of large, custom industrial machines and after-market parts. The assembly may include mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components. Other responsibilities of the Assembly Tech include supporting the shop and manufacturing processes, cycle counting, and assisting with weights and dimensions for shipping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Assembly Tech
Mechanical assembly of sub-components for our custom industrial machines, including machine blades and pumps.
Responsible for a variety of duties in support of daily shop operations and manufacturing processes including:
Hydraulic tube bending
Parts stocking, cycle counting, taking weights and dimensions for shipping
Shop organization and paint booth prep work or assistance
Providing support to Mechanical Machine Technicians on larger machine building projects
Other projects and duties as assigned
Will use hand tools to perform floor and benchtop work and perform light machining duties using a band saw, surface grinder or other equipment when necessary
Utilize basic, Windows-based computer tools including email and O365 applications as needed
Participate in process improvement projects
Qualifications of the Assembly Tech:
A minimum of one year of relevant manufacturing experience including prior mechanical assembly experience, use of hand tools, machine tools and shop equipment.
Education – High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience with reading and following manufacturing documentation including blueprints and instructions relating to assembly
Attention to detail, willingness to ask questions and receive feedback and troubleshoot problems
Able to multitask and adapt to change
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with manufacturing and administrative teammates
Willingness to jump in and assist with other responsibilities or projects as necessary
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Prior experience supporting shop processes including cycle counting, parts stocking or industrial paint support preferred.
Valid driver’s license and Fork Truck experience preferred
