Description

The Staff Educator develops and implements staff educational programs to promote competency of staff. This position entails curriculum and program development, facilitation of education offerings, evaluation of programs and outcome measurement.

The Staff Educator develops and implements staff educational programs to promote competency of staff. This position entails curriculum and program development, facilitation of education offerings, evaluation of programs and outcome measurement.

  • Partner with unit-based Director or Manager, to successfully onboard new hires with regard to education and skills.
  • Acting as a consultant by conducting needs assessments and assists with development of education plans for departments. Participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating competency validation programs.
  • Facilitates with the coordination of the student experience program, the American Heart Association program for life-saving certifications, the simulation program, the continuing education approved provider program, and the new graduate and residency programs.
  • Oversees clinical orientation for all new hires, agency, etc. Coordinates logistics with specific presenters.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree (BSN) Preferred X Required
Master's degree (MSN) X Preferred Required

Minimum Work Experience
Required - 5 years of experience in healthcare field.

Required Skills
Required Certifications/Licenses:
Current Virginia State RN license
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS) May be obtained within first week of hire.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). May be obtained within 6 months of hire.
