*This is a casual position,10-16 hours per week*

*Looking for someone on Saturdays and two weeknights (Wednesday and Friday preferred but can be flexible).

Tentative Schedule

*Two weeknights - 4:00/5:30PM - 7:00PM.

*Saturdays - 8:00/9:00AM - 2:00PM.

Responsibilities

  • This position is designed to provide visitation services to families experiencing out of home care placements or families involved with family court custody issues.
  • Services include observation, interaction with family members, and documentation of the parent-child interactions.
  • This position may provide group based or individual services in an office, community or home based location.
  • Direct service activities may include needs assessments, visitation service planning, teaching, coaching and modeling, supporting parent/child interactions, and observing and documenting parent/child interactions.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent.Associate Degree in Human Services preferred.
  • One year of experience working with children and families
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, ability to be insured by CHW carrier in order to travel to offsite location when necessary.
  • Complete in-house car seat transporter training within one month of hire and re-train biannually thereafter to maintain.
  • Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgment skills. Learns quickly when facing new problems and makes good decisions based on a mixture of analysis. Ability to make sound judgments, to use supervision effectively and to take independent action if needed to ensure child safety. Is cool under pressure and can effectively cope with change.
  • Must be a team player willing to accept and promote organizational goals and function with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence, AODA and/or child development beneficial.
  • Strong computer skills required, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written communication. Including the ability to write factual case notes. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with families, foster parents, providers, and case managers.
  • Ability to make decisions based on education preparation, experience and best practice which reflect consistency with Agency philosophy, policies and procedures and standards of practice.
