Job Description

Position Description:

The Wisconsin Institute for Neuroscience (WINS) Building Resilience through Action in Veterans and First Responders (BRAVE) Program is currently seeking a full-time licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who will work within the BRAVE interdisciplinary team. The responsibilities of this position focus on direct patient care. Additional responsibilities include providing a local and national presence regarding best practices for speech language pathology in the field of mild Traumatic Brain Injury.

Plan and administer occupational therapy program to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally or physically handicapped patients. Plan therapy program according to the individual needs of patients. To participate as a member of an academic setting multidisciplinary team serving the veteran and first responder populations.

Primary Functions

* Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop a treatment plan that integrates input from team members, patients and family.

* Perform therapy in accordance with the treatment plan and evaluate results.

* Accurately, promptly and thoroughly document patient's care observations, interventions and evaluations.

* Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.

* Maintain therapy equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Knowledge of biology, clinical judgment, medicine, cultural awareness, and consulting.

Medical documentation, interpersonal, practice-based learning and improvement, empathy, and decision making skills
