Job Description:

• Client is embarking on implementing SCCM, primary focus is on desktop infrastructure, particularly within the Production/Emergency Communication Center (ECC), which houses 70 devices, and the Training/Test collection, which consists of 30 devices.
• Additionally, they maintain around 40 servers, with plans to expand this server count to approximately 100 soon.
• This SCCM implementation aims to ensure it meets the stringent standards of a public safety-grade system.
• They require centralized management and control over software and hardware assets, which is essential for critical public safety services' uninterrupted and reliable operation.

Responsibilities:

• Candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating OS imaging, streamlining the deployment of third-party applications, and efficiently managing software upgrades across client's network.
• Client's servers and workstations have a well-established reputation for their remarkable network reliability and minimal unplanned downtime, crucial for safety system.
• Client's computing environment, predominantly Windows-based, is complemented by a smaller number of VMware Linux boxes.
• Moreover, they will host mission-critical components such as data warehousing, reporting, and production and backup sites within a highly virtualized, redundant system.
• This system adheres to the stringent requirements of public safety-grade infrastructure and relies on ESXi VMware as a core component.
• To streamline client processes and achieve standardization, they need someone to assist them in implementing SCCM for Workstations using SCCM. This will enable them to manage images, software updates, Windows patches, and compatibility with third-party hardware like Palo Alto, which the client utilizes.
• Create and sustain automated processes for software delivery/packaging, operating system deployment, and configuration management to distribute throughout enterprise SCCM hierarchy.
• Assist with analysis of project metrics and trends to evaluate success of overall program.
• Troubleshoot user software or hardware problems in line with project tasks policies

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics:

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft SCCM.
• Working knowledge and understanding of ITIL best practice.
• Thorough understanding of Active Directory, including replication and GPO.
• Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems patching, and software such as Windows 7 and Windows 10.
• Advanced knowledge of registry, permissions, and drivers and software required..

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of Packaging & Deployment experience
• Minimum of 2 years of Scripting (PowerShell, VB Script) experience.
• Experience maintaining patches on desktop computers with Microsoft, operating environments.
• Solid understanding of Active Directory administration, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creation of technical documentation.

Nice to have:

• Enterprise Antivirus Management server technologies (TrendMicro, Symantec Enterprise Protection Manager, etc.)
• Fundamental understanding of Networking
• Experience working in large production environments with critical system
• Microsoft Certified Professional, VMware Certified Associated, A+.
