Position Summary:

Responsible for screening and reporting of negative gynecological cytology cases.
Reports to: Supervisor, Lab
FLSA: Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs procedures and protocols in Cytology, Histology, and Pathology.
Performs screening of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, reports any negative gynecological
specimens, and refers any non-gynecological and abnormal gynecological specimens to the pathologist.
Performs required quality control for procedures and necessary quality assurance.
Prepares stains and solutions used in processing specimens/ slides. Correctly operates and performs
necessary maintenance on cytology equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree


Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be
able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


Certifications:
ASCP or equivalent registry
