Under the direction of the Director of Cardiovascular Service Line, the Stress Lab RN will have a thorough understanding/knowledge all Stress Lab and Pacemaker Clinic procedures and equipment. Must have a comprehensive working knowledge of Cardiac Arrhythmias and advanced Cardiac Arrhythmias interpretation. The nurse will assess, prep, monitor, record procedural testing data, and initiate follow-up on all patient responses to stress testing. The nurse will coordinate and conduct all Pacemaker Clinic procedures to include: patient enrollment with a 'follow-up service', and checking/adjusting pacemaker setting using the manufacturer's programmer.
SCOPE OF CARE:
Cardiology Services provides non-invasive diagnostic testing and invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures to diagnose and treat patient's with known or suspected coronary artery disease, unstable angina, valvular disease, dysrhythmia, congestive heart failure, ST/nonST elevation MI, and peripheral vascular disease.
Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Work Experience:
3 to 5 years Medical/Surgical Nursing to include 2 to 3 years of Critical Care Nursing (CCU preferred).
Minimum of 1 year experience in Cardiology/Cardiac Office preferred
License/Registration/Certification:
Current RN License issued by North Carolina State Board of Nurses.
BLS and ACLS maintained.
Education & Training:
B.S. Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Skills:
Cardiovascular nursing experience with knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, and advanced cardiac arrhythmia.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact with patients, families and physicians.
Ability to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity necessary to elicit patients cooperation and allay apprehensions.
Analytical skills necessary in order to gather and interpret quantitative and qualitative data relevant to relatively non-complex patient care problems.
Basic computer knowledge
