Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area of office such as measuring patients' vital signs, administering medication and injections, information in medical record keeping systems, preparing and handling medical instruments and supplies, and collecting and preparing specimens of bodily fluids and tissues for laboratory testing.
Perform many administrative duties, including answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and filing patient's medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services.
Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
