Job Description
Thank you for reviewing our ad. This is a great opportunity to help improve the quality of life for our clients. We are looking to hire Respite care for a 23 year old autistic woman with physical disabilities.
Respite care is temporary relief to family caregivers so they can have time to relax, get household chores done, essentially have a break from their day to day. Being a family caregiver can be intense and overwhelming. Your role as respite support is such an appreciated and important role.
This young woman enjoys drawing and playing with puppets. As mentioned earlier she has autism, physical disability, intellectual disability, anxiety and depression.. Location would mostly be at her home with her family. Their home has an assortment of animals, like dogs, chickens, goats. Rabbits, etc. The applicant for this job needs to be comfortable with pets and animals. The role of this job would be to help with social interaction from time to time. Transportation, and support at home.
It is important for the PHW to communicate clearly, be patient, a good listener, have a go with the flow attitude and calm demeanor. It is preferred but not required, to have knowledge and understanding with certain medical equipment and technology. With competitive pay and a flexible schedule , this is a great and rewarding job opportunity.
PAY: $16 / HR
HOURS: 2-3 hours a day ( possible up to 30 hrs a week)
Sunday- Saturday (days can be discussed and are flexible!)
SHIFT: Mornings or afternoons
REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and car insurance
