Summary
Support the Department Manager to ensure that production goals are met in alignment with company and customer quality standards; organize and control the release of materials to support the production schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives to meet (SQDC) safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Maintain open communication with employees providing guidance, training, and feedback.
  • Oversee and coach employees for improved performance.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Maintain staff by interviewing, selecting, orienting, training employees, and developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and adherence to scheduled regular maintenance.
  • Ensure the department area is clean, organized, and free of dangers or hazards.
  • Ensure all environmental obligations are met.
  • Enforce safety, housekeeping, and quality guidelines in accordance with company standards.
  • Work closely with other supervisors in a cooperative manner to ensure proper flow of material for on-time delivery.
  • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
  • Monitor output according to specifications and take necessary action to improve.
  • Maintain reports on performance and progress of each employee as well as the department.
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements. Follow through on needed actions for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Set the example for strong performance through attendance, civility, cooperation, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Program and operate shop machinery as needed.

Education and/or Experience
Minimum high school degree or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing related capacity.
