Supplies health care services using radioisotopes to aid in diagnosis or treatment (therapies).
Performs Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT related procedures, computer processing, and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a Radiologist or a licensed independent practitioner.
Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and supports a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.
Recognizes various patient conditions to supply proper patient care to ensure successful exam completion.
Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of an education program in Nuclear Medicine.
Current CPR for Healthcare Providers
Current license with the American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) N or certificate with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Current license with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
Current Advanced ARRT and/or CNMT Registry.
PET certification recommended upon completion of 700 hours (about 4 weeks) of clinical experience.
