Position Summary:

* Provides Cardiology non-invasive services consistent with the physicians written orders and approved departmental procedure manual within the limits of trained skill and capabilities.

* Studies patient's requisition form to obtain vital information needed prior to the test; past heart disorders or special medications the patient may be taking.

* Explains purpose and procedure to the patient.

* Operates EKG equipment for 12 lead testing.

* Reviews recordings and checks for clarity and for any deviation from the normal.

* Prepares study for the cardiologist to interpret.

* Prepares patient for Holtor Monitor setup.

* Scans Holtor Monitors and prepares printout for cardiologist.

* Demonstrates thorough knowledge of computer operation retrieval of data.

* Preps patient for stress-testing/assist Cardiologist with test.

* Performs high Resolution EKG's.Monitors the patients, including blood pressure.

* Efficient with MUSE System for data storage, retrieval and editing physician interpretation of EKG's.

* Demonstrates proper lead placement for left and right sided 12 lead ECG and data retrieval.

Minimum Qualifications:

Licensed Echo Tech required

Basic Life Support (BLS)
