Join Children's Wisconsin to learn what it is like to be a Radiologic Technologist in a clinic setting while you're still obtaining your degree!! Gain hands on experience, while working alongside our experienced technologists that will personally train you to perform the work you would do after graduation!

Job Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of a technologist, assists in performing imaging examinations. As part of the imaging program, this internship is designed to expose students to direct practice in the field of imaging while completing a required accredited Radiology, Ultrasound or Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Participates in and contributes to department projects to receive introductory work experience related to imaging activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in good standing, and completion of 6 months of training in an accredited School of Radiologic, Ultrasound or Nuclear Medicine Technology is required. (Prefer those that are in their last semester of school)

  • CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.

  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision.

  • Basic computer skills to operate a computer efficiently and effectively.

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Ability to understand detailed instructions.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the HIPAA Privacy Rule.

  • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.

  • Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids, chemotherapy agents, communicable disease and hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.

  • Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, wearing protective equipment weighing 10-15 pounds over 80% of the assigned work period, as well as lift and position patients weighing up to 150 pounds.
