Job Description

Codeworks is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Administrator to expand its team in Milwaukee, WI, and anticipates the need for a skilled and dedicated Network Administrator in the near future. As a Network Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient operations.


- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.

- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.

- Perform regular network maintenance activities, including firmware updates, patches, and system upgrades.

- Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements.

- Analyze network traffic and performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimize network performance.

- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users regarding network-related issues.

- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

- Stay up to date with emerging networking technologies and industry best practices.


- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) are a plus.

- Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role, managing enterprise-level networks.

- Strong knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).

- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime).

- Familiarity with network security principles and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and end-users.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
