Job Description

The incumbent will manage the Manufacturing Software and Controls integration team that specializes delivering solutions for new product introductions, legacy equipment, process changes, capacity and capital projects within Manufacturing Process Engineering.  Also, will collaborate with operations teams to troubleshoot issues seen in production.  Partner with IT and the OT digital transformation team to bring the Connected Enterprise to life.  Additionally, oversee the software standards team to deliver new packages and solutions to improve coding efficiency and decrease barriers to execution.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain experts in designing, executing, and implementing software and controls for custom equipment solutions into RA manufacturing plants.
  • Oversee hardware and software development teams to deliver manufacturing equipment solutions to internal customers
  • Hold teams accountable to using defined standards for development.  Participate in the governance process to ensure uniform application of standards and practices.
  • Support the implementation of the Connected Enterprise in RA plants
  • Create partnerships with internal IT department to support equipment
  • Lead integration efforts of manufacturing IT / OT into solution design process
  • Develop long range strategies for and translate them into short term goals and objectives.
  • Consistently moves problems towards resolution when encountering obstacles, uncertain conditions, or situations where lack of data or conflicting data means that there is no clear “right” choice; helps others do same. Drives successful execution of new initiatives and projects by fulfilling individual responsibilities.

  • Identify opportunities to drive productivity within manufacturing
  • Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. 
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.? 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience demonstrating technical leadership capabilities, working effectively with different levels of staff across functional boundaries
  • Experience in an agile development environment
  • Experience with product development methodologies such Design for Excellence Df(X), and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies. 
  • Experience leading change and continuous improvement, preferable in test technology, manufacturing defect detection processes, and global standardization and deployment
  • Familiarity in new product development process
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and practices
  • Have worked with multiple cultures globally
  • Understanding of electronics and/or electrical diagrams
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience focused on employee growth and development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software or controls solution developer in C#, C++, and/or Python
