Job Description
The Puyenpa family of companies are comprised of multiple SBA Certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified organizations focused on delivering Information Technology, Management Consulting, and General Construction solutions to the Federal Government along with the Commercial Sector. We are actively seeking a System Administrator based in O’Fallon, IL. This position is a full time, onsite role. This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Puyenpa team supporting the Mobility Air Force Distributed Mission Operations (MAF DMO) contract. The main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Design, Installation, support and maintenance of MAF mission network servers, computer equipment and connection of peripherals.
  • Configure software, modify software configuration and perform basic configuration management IAW with all STIGs and other Cybersecurity requirements to include JSIG.
  • Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems.
  • Work as part of project team in design and integration of Operational Testing & Training Infrastructure (OTTI) technologies and MAF DMO solutions to meet mission requirements.
  • Provide software application assistance for commonly used office automation applications and Modeling & Simulation tools.
  • Support Host Base Security System (HBSS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions and continuous monitoring.
  • Implement client workstations software patches, security fixes and service releases.
  • Identify, analyze and document long-range requirements.
  • Must be able to travel to include internationally.
The qualified candidate will have the following knowledge and experience:
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification.
  • Certifiable knowledge of PC operations in Linux and Windows NT based operating systems.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining automated systems deployment, configuration management, and maintenance tools.
  • Experience using system monitoring tools to maintain overall system and network health.
  • Experience configuring software, modifying software configuration and performing basic configuration management IAW with all STIGs and other Cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience with operating systems and relational database management systems such as SQL Server
  • Experience building and updating virtual machines and LANs in MS Windows and Linux
  • Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools.
  • Must be a US citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience operating, maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the virtual infrastructure to include virtual servers virtualized storage, virtual networking, and virtual desktops using VMware technology.
  • Understanding of platform performance analysis, telemetry, and performance related troubleshooting
  • Strong experience implementing best practices in an end user environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments.
  • Understanding of VMware NSX in the desktop environment
  • Understanding of VMware vROPS/V4H in the desktop environment
  • Understanding/Experience with IT audit and security assessment processes
