Responsibilities:

  • This position promotes the patient care philosophy and objectives of the professional practice governance members by subscribing to and supporting CHW standards of care through the coordination of patient care activities.
  • Acts as an active member of the leadership team to support the care management model, CHW scope and standards of pediatric clinical nursing practice, legal regulations, CHW Code of Ethics and hospital policies.
  • Works toward achieving ongoing development of leadership skills and participates in professional activities to stay current in relevant area of clinical practice.
  • Facilitates the development and engagement of professional and technical personnel (registered nurses, graduate nurses, nurse interns, technicians, unit secretaries) providing patient care.

Schedule Options:

OPTION 1:

  • Week 1: Sunday 7-1900 | Monday 8 hours office time | Wednesday 7-1900 |Thursday 8 hours office time

    Week 2: Monday 8 hours office time | Tuesday PM | Wednesday PM | Thursday PM | 8 hours office time before or after one of the other shifts

OPTION 2:

  • Week 1: Sunday 7-1900 | Monday 8 hours office time | Wednesday 7-1900 | Thursday 8 hours office time
  • Week 2: Monday 8 hours office time | Wednesday PM | Thursday PM |Saturday Days + 8 hours office time before or after one of the other shifts

Education & Certification:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, consideration will be given to applicants currently enrolled in a baccalaureate program in nursing or a BSN completion program with an anticipated graduation date within a time frame to be agreed upon, not to exceed 4 years from hire date.
  • Must possess current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.

Experience & Skills:

  • Approximately two to three years technical experience necessary in order to gain knowledge of professional nursing practice and procedures, and proficiency in the care of complex pediatric patients, as well as experience in advance supervision in order to oversee unit staffing and activities of subordinate staff.
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
  • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) training is required.
