Norris is currently seeking an individual to fulfill the role of Lead Youth Care Specialist for our 2nd shift hours (generally 2pm to 10pm) at our West Bend Campus.  This position is a unique combination of direct care and leadership opportunities. Under the supervision of the Milieu Supervisor, the Lead Youth Care Specialist (LYCS) at River Bend Campus (RBP) is primarily responsible for the care and supervision of youth in all facets of their daily lives, including their safety, well-being, emotional and educational needs.  The LYCS acts in collaboration with other team members to provide direct care, supervision, behavior management, recreation and other individual and group services to youth in a structured setting. Services and support provided by the LYCS promote the Norris mission and practice philosophy for providing treatment and services utilizing a trauma informed care approach.  The LYCS is also responsible for ensuring implementation of assigned treatment services, maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring the daily routine of the program is upheld. The LYCS is responsible for providing Medication Administration as well as being the Leader on Duty during a majority of shifts including the weekend/holiday rotation for LOD’s at River Bend Place.
 
The LYCS ensures sensitivity to the ethnic and cultural diversity of youth, families and employees while effectively communicating and promoting the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of Norris.  The LYCS is part of the RBP Residential Services Leadership team and routinely serves in the role of “supervisor” however, does not have direct reports. When not serving in the role of “supervisor”, the LYCS serves as part of the overall team providing role modeling and coaching for staff and direct oversight of the living environment both internally and externally.  As a 24/7 treatment program, the LYCS position requires the individual to work a flexible schedule in order to support the needs of the campus and the program and understands that their schedule is subject to change to meet the program’s evolving needs at any time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
