DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform and/or provide direction and support for the following services:

  • Oversees all Public Health Medical Services
  • Ensures that all contractual and Acuity International policies and procedures are being followed
  • Ensures triage is performed for evacuees arriving to the medical clinic
  • Ensures coordination with community health on behalf of patients deemed at risk of harm to self or others to site mental health professional
  • Provides leadership, coaching and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged productive workforce partnering with Human Resources on employee matters
  • Monitors quality and appropriateness of medical care
  • Manages daily operations for the Public Health Services and clinical setting
  • Coordinates with inventory / supply management by reviewing inventory of medical equipment, supplies and medications. Approves purchase orders for necessary items to ensure cost containment
  • Medical liaison for the medical department when collaborating with managers / directors of different departments within the shelter
  • Addresses urgent and emergent issues 24 hours a day 7 days a week
  • Attends daily standing meetings occurring with the interdepartmental and intradepartmental leaders within the shelter
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active and unrestricted NP or PA License
  • 5 years of medical clinical experience
  • 2 year experience in a residential facility
  • Clean criminal background check
  • BLS, ACLS and /or PALS certification
  • Able to provide care for all age groups from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Board certified in family medicine
  • Able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Immediate, last-minute travel within the U.S. may be required if located outside of shelter location.
  • Flexibility is required due to potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish)
