Performs and completes radiographic studies as requested to assist physicians in diagnosis of injury or pathology.
Incorporates knowledge of technical functions to provide optional studies while protecting the patient and self from excessive radiation exposure.
Administers oral and IV contrast media as needed.
Performs radiographic procedures in a competent and knowledgeable manner
Administers contrast media as required for certain exams with approval of a physician
Assists physicians in performance of non-typical examinations
Maintains a safe and orderly environment for self, other personnel and patients
Provides age appropriate care to all patients.
Assists in the education of students as required
Reports to: Radiology Supervisor
Minimum Education
Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days
Licenses:
ARRT registered with WV licensure.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and cope with acutely ill patients.
Must be able to take call on a rotating basis.
