Job Description
 

Role Purpose

Manages and oversees process for all US -based immigration that includes overview of H-1B processes, case management for L-1, TN, E-3, O visas, plus Perm Transfers, International Long Term, STA and EBT assignments

Accountabilities

  • Drive immigration compliance within Syngenta-US while accomplishing a win-win from business and employee perspective, wherever possible.
  • Drive simplification and serve as global mobility manager for Syngenta process changes as they relate to GM and immigration, to free up time for value-added activities
  • Build relationships and keep lines of communication open with foreign national employees and line managers; escalating potential risk, delays, budget impacting expenditures, and other relevant items to offer support to HR Business Partners
  • Serve as relationship manager and escalation point for relocation/visa questions or issues with vendor-related services to reduce disruption to the employee during a stressful time
  • Partner with the external immigration law firm and facilitate case management activities to support information needs and complexities; perform final review of petition case documents prior to final sign-off
  • Partner with Global Mobility-UK on international assignment logistics, policy development and relationship-building with assignees
  • Support Talent Acquisition on candidate evaluation for immigration-related dependencies
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and HR Operations on basic immigration watchouts for day-to-day operational process alignment (review of legal name usage, residency reporting, offer letter review, I-9, etc.)

This person can work remotely from anywhere in the US, but will provide support in all time zones.

Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is required
  • Must have deep knowledge of corporate immigration law and a minimum of five years of experience in this area
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in a professional manner

Preferred Requirements

  • (S)PHR / SHRM-CP or paralegal certification preferred
