Job Description

Summary:
The following job description is for the position of Delivery Sales Representative at Emil’s Pizza, Inc. It has determined that the DSR is a key position that is responsible for the day-to-day deliveries and account customer service. This person will play a critical role in chain of relationships that ensures accurate and timely deliveries, service, positive communication with customers, a close working relationship with the sales team, all while acting ethically and honestly to identify opportunities for growth and improved service to our customers. This role may be adjusted as business needs change.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Insure all employees work safely and participate to ensure that any and all unsafe work conditions are corrected immediately to prevent all work-related accidents
  • Arrive to customer locations on a timely basis
  • Ensure customer receives all products they ordered
  • Perform light maintenance on trucks. This includes checking fluids daily
  • Follow all safe driving practices as outlined in Driver Health and Safety Guidelines
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner using defensive driving techniques
  • Load product and move product in a safe manner using good lifting techniques
  • Clean out the box of vehicle daily, removing all spilled product
  • Clean out cab of vehicle daily, remove trash
  • Help out with special and redeliveries when instructed
  • Perform pick-ups at various vendors throughout the area if necessary
  • Champion all food safety and quality programs
  • Accurately performs daily duties to minimally include:
  • Pre/post inventory, pre-trip inspection, accurate temp. recordings
  • Quality delivery/customer service stops at all active accounts on route
  • Accurate and timely completion of all accounting transactions
  • Clean out truck and work with plant team for seamless loading and preparation for the next route
  • Work closely with the sales personnel and drivers’ team to address customer needs and adjust routing accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned by The Supervisor of Transportation and Drivers or Emil’s Director of Sales.
  • Maintain a safe working environment to reduce injuries and workers compensation claims
  • All other duties assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Class B CDL Driving license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Processing Information- Must compile, calculate, tabulate, or verify information or data. Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
  • Handling and Moving Objects - Use hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Be able to repeatedly lift and carry at least 30lbs. at least 50 yards.
  • Performing General Physical Activities - Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as; climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, and handling of materials. Be able to enter and exit delivery truck repeatedly.
  • Multi-limb Coordination – Must have the ability to coordinate two or more limbs for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
  • Far Vision - Must have the ability to see details at distance especially while driving.
  • Spatial Orientation - Must have the ability to know their location in relation to the environment or to know where other objects are in relation to you.
  • Static Strength - Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Control Precision - Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Near Vision- Ability to see details at close range within a few feet of the observer.
  • Ability to navigate various types of stairwells, uneven surfaces, ramps, loading docks, etc.
  • Ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to work with a hand-held computer-based scanning system, and pick and deliver a customer’s order within five minutes
  • Work well with and communicate regularly with other drivers, sales staff, office staff and the plant management team to ensure quality customer service.
  • Promote and maintain a professional business relationship with customers
  • Work an average of 8-12 hours per day and be flexible for weekend opportunities and responsibilities
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a record of safe driving
  • Be available via cell phone (can return calls)
  • Pass all required drug, alcohol, and functionality testing
