Develops and executes the product portfolio strategy for multiple or more complex product categories in existing and new regions. Defines vision and leads development and execution of a rolling three year product plan and portfolio strategy including new product introductions, product lifecycle management, cost/warranty reductions and profitability. Defines product and technology roadmaps by evaluating and analyzing key customer needs, and market trends and competitive intelligence. Manages technical communication and coordination between all business functions.
Creates and communicates product line strategy, as well as the justification and prioritization of new product development initiatives; synthesizes multiple product plans for multiple product lines into one comprehensive plan
Drives the business case for product development programs within the New Product Development (NPD) Process and coaches others to successfully navigate the process recommending and implementing new efficiencies in the process
Defines product and technology roadmaps by evaluating and analyzing key customer/end-user needs and product/market trends; presents relevant research and findings to Senior Leaders.
Partners to build the long range planning process and the development of the rolling 3 year product plans and roadmaps for innovation planning 5+ years out for the platform.
Developscapital budgets and drives resource planning and allocation decisions based on product line priorities
Partners with marketing to define the Voice of Customer (VoC) and go-to-market strategy for new products/lines or changes
Develops and delivers product and business strategy presentations;provides product knowledge for sales calls, sales literature/documentation and trade shows
Maintains and reports out on product line metrics in alignment with the Product Management Review process
Leads and participates in cost/warranty reduction and profit improvement efforts
Partners with Operations and Supply Chain to improve product cost and quality
Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
