PURPOSE
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing engineer to develop and improve mechanical manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering or similar with 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE),
  • Understanding of mechanical design and engineering elements in probe card head building, hardware, and space transformer assembly.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, MS Project, ERP systems, JMP & CAD Design
  • Experience working on manufacturing problems of diverse scope.
  • Maintenance experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Process and equipment engineer experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills, ability to work collaboratively in team and cross functional environments.
  • Good communication/negotiation and persuasion skills.
The pay range for this role in Carlsbad CA is between $67,900 and $89,145. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
