AO Smith - North American Water Treatment Division is looking for an Entry Level Product Engineer to work our Product Development Department. The successful candidate will work directly with our Senior Engineers to develop new and innovative products for our Residential Water Treatment Group. Training on the job will include fundamental water chemistry and plastic injection molding part design.

• Perform advanced engineering tasks under supervision by a senior engineer
• Complete engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge in an engineering specialty
• Analyze production methods to ensure time and cost goals are met
• Support engineering functions for a product or product family from design through production
• Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide advice on issues within the engineering field
• Provide occasional support to manufacturing and acquire familiarity with manufacturing operations
• Communicate with other engineering functions including design, process, production, quality, and reliability teams
• Plan, conduct and coordinate engineering assignments which typically include several smaller projects or one major project; also participates in planning objectives for projects
• Participate in brainstorming activities for specific needs
• Conduct oneself professionally and in accordance with A. O. Smith values
• Become familiar with industry groups as well as patent and trade secret processes

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering - preferablyMechanical
• Proficiency with CAE tools such as Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD or FEA
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to think out of the box in developing new products, analyzing data, and recommending technical solutions.
• Proven ability to deliver on complex technical projects on time and within budget
• Expertisewith Microsoft Office andCAE tools such as SolidWorks or Autodesk
• Internship, Co-Op and/or water chemistry experience a plus
