Codeworks is a locally owned and operated IT Services firm in SE Wisconsin, known for our strong commitment to quality and for our direct client relationships.
Our financial services client located in the Milwaukee, WI area is looking for an experienced Software Support Engineer/Application Analyst to join their team as on a contract basis to hire basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting mission critical business facing applications, including core banking applications and other enterprise applications. The Application Analyst has a customer focused approach and ensures the continuous operation and delivery of IT services to support associates and clients. This role will require the ability to work as part of an application support team and serve as a systems expert to support end user, infrastructure, and development teams. The person in this role will have the opportunity to take on technical leadership and mentorship responsibilities in the future, as this is a growing team.

Other responsibilities will include:
- Resolution of support issues to ensure support requests are resolved within agreed service timescales.
- Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure assigned applications are properly configured, upgraded, and secured.
- Participate in Release Planning sessions and frequently review application release notes, technical bulletins, and industry best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of assigned applications and integrations; ensure proper use/configuration of applications through continuous training and related certifications.
- Participate in application/software lifecycle discussions.
- Recommend solutions for software enhancements and recognize opportunities for longer term technology roadmap planning.
- Participate in process improvement planning for software/application maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
- Prior professional experience with ITIL based change, request, and incident management processes or similar IT service methodology.
- A few years of experience supporting on-premises applications hosted on Windows Server operating systems and applications hosted remotely in a public or private cloud.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases and the ability to write queries for data investigation
- Knowledge of basic network configuration for troubleshooting application issues.
