ABOUT THE POSITION: Do you enjoy variety, such as handling multiple projects simultaneously as well as working with a variety of manufacturing processes and design? This may be the engineering role for you! Bring your strong electrical aptitude and project management skills to our Sustaining (Value) Engineering team to create amazing solutions for our customers in the world of lighting products!

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: To start off, you'll have either a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (or the equivalent!) You'll have at least 5 years' experience performing in Current Products Engineering, Design, and Value Engineering with experience doing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), engineering analysis, and electronic circuitry design. You're knowledgeable of electronics packaging and/or lighting technology, and you have experience with showing compliance to regulatory and customer requirements. You have knowledge of PCB layouts, analog circuity, designing for EMC, SPICE-based circuit simulation tools, EDA tools, and production test fixture design. Lastly, you view yourself as a collaborative "Project Manager" and can make priority decisions within a quickly changing manufacturing environment.


You will EXPLORE:

  • By coordinating activities between EE zone, Customer Service, and Manufacturing.
  • By conducting engineering analysis and production returns.
  • By designing electronic circuitry-from concept to hardware: block diagrams, schematic drawings, layout planning for printed circuit boards (PCBS), lab development testing.
  • By creating and supplying basic designs, layouts, illustrations and detailed drawings per best practices & standards.
  • By supporting prototype procurement and sample builds as required.
  • By working with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and R&D to identify and implement product changes to reduce costs of/add value to existing products.

You will INNOVATE:

  • By providing design input and direction for complex Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • By providing feedback and initiating and driving improvements for Engineering, field evaluation, and manufacturing processes.
  • By supporting Supply Chain efforts to approve new materials and alternates for electrical components.
  • By coordinating design reviews, and Product Validation Testing for designs.
  • By using business system software to find information and execute changes.
  • By executing cost/benefit analysis or VA/VE activities and prioritizing to maximize benefit to the company.

You will PERFORM:

  • By ensuring release product documentation integrity.
  • By supporting ongoing compliance of products to regulatory and customer requirements including test coordination, report creation, and PPAP documentation.
  • By interacting effectively with internal and external customers.
  • By recording and verifying accuracy of BOM's, engineering changes, and PCB layouts.
  • By assuring all VA/VE activities align with regulatory and customer requirements.
