Quality Control Technician

Summary

Perform inspections and tests on in-process and finished product as defined in procedures and work instructions to ensure that quality standards and process controls are being met throughout the manufacturing process. Generate the appropriate documentation, records and reports. Support quality, engineering and manufacturing as needed. Responsible for assisting the Plant Quality Manager to customer satisfaction, profitability, and sustained growth

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing a good working relationship with manufacturing and support any measurement issues.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement as necessary through the appropriate personnel.
  • Create and update Work Instructions, Gauge Instructions, Packaging instructions
  • Fill out and submit RFC
  • Create Quality Alerts and Deviations when needed
  • Perform LPA's
  • Assist in Nonconformance Control System.
  • Assist in resolution of quality concerns utilizing disciplined problem-solving techniques.
  • Assist with OJT's
  • Required to gage parts, collect SPC, Blue Sheet information; operating the moisture analyzer, optical comparator, digital calipers and micrometer.
  • Conduct receiving inspection on components and material
  • Fill out daily Red/Green checklist.
  • Give final approval for parts that are set aside at EOL inspection and GP12.
  • Required to do daily house cleaning
  • Assist with machine startup and shutdown; Filling line with paperwork and parts as needed (delegate as needed).
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Participate in internal audits as per the audit schedule.
  • Assist other Quality Department functions as needed. (Cross-training)

Positions Requirements

  • High school diploma or (GED) and a minimum of two years or related experience and/or training.
  • Training in APQP (Creation of FMEA, Flowchart, Control plans, Gage R&R's, and SPC).
  • Proficient with various software program including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to read part prints, work instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to work together as a team.
  • General inspection and test equipment knowledge (Calipers, Micrometers, etc.).
  • General quality system knowledge (ISO or TS 16949).
