Position Summary:

Assists with the examination and treatment  of residents under the direction of the physician or nurse manager. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on residents' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of residents.
  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Actively participates in projects that improve quality, efficiency of care, patient satisfaction and positive outcomes.
  • Coordinates and/or schedules patient procedures, consultations and tests as ordered.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assistant program
  • Experience working in Assisted Living preferred
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred
  • Possible travel requirement
