Director of Human Resources (32854)

Our client is a privately-held global manufacturing company that is looking for a Director of Human Resources to join their team.  They are looking for someone who has experience building teams, is very hands-on with employee relations and enjoys cross-team collaboration.  The company boasts a fun team-oriented culture and competitive benefits. The Director of Human Resources will manage the day-to-day operations of the human resources department including benefits, recruiting, training, and employee and labor relations. The Human Resources Manager responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:
 
  • The Director of Human Resources will conduct recruiting for all levels of the company including sourcing, training, developing and retaining of employees.
  • Ensure onboarding process and new employee orientation set employees up for success to ensure understanding of company business operations and are able to quickly make an impact in their position.
  • Manage, lead and develop the HR team to ensure HR strategy, programs and processes support a performance-based culture emphasizing continuous improvement, team-work and individual/team accountability.
  • Act as a business partner with senior leaders to develop and execute human resources initiatives that support business strategy and objectives.
  • Ensure training and development programs meet the needs of the organization to increase employee performance. Develop a strategy for organizational development to meet company growth, improve turnover, and ensure succession plans in key positions.
  • Develop and implement an employee benefit strategy that supports the company’s goals and values. Works closely with benefit vendors to monitor benefit plan performance and adjust benefit plan design as appropriately.
  • Plan and execute companywide labor relations policies and practices including labor negotiations, grievances, mediation and arbitration.
  • Oversee the structure and process for an effective salary administration system and compensation plan to support organizational goals.
  • Ensure Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is implemented, provides efficiencies to HR processes and properly maintained to meet privacy and data laws.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements and changes to Human Resources processes and procedures continually to meet needs of the Human Resources department and the organization.
  • The Director of Human Resources will ensure HR programs, processes and policies comply with all federal, state and local laws and guidelines.
  • Other duties as needed.


The Director of Human Resources will possess the following:

Requirements
 
  • The Director of Human Resources will have 10+ years’ progressive human resources experience including a minimum 4 years management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with labor relations and union negotiations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Requires advance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and HRIS applications. Experience with Ultimate Software HRIS is a plus.
  • The Director of Human Resources will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other business related field.
  • PHR or SHRM certification or ability to obtain after hire strongly preferred.
